Amish Cabbage Patch Soup (Courtesy Tif Smith)

Instructions:

 

Cook the ground beef on the stove in a skillet and drain. Add to the crock pot and add all other items to the crock pot and let cook for 6 to 7 hours on medium heat or 4 hours on high.

1 lb.  ground beef cooked & drained

 

1 large onion chopped

 

3 stalks celery chopped

 

1 large green bell pepper chopped

 

2 cans 14 oz. kidney beans drained & rinsed

 

2 cans caboza beans drained & rinsed

 

2 tsp. chili powder

 

1/2 tsp. cumin

 

1/4 cup Alaga syrup

 

1/2 head cabbage chopped

 

1 box of beef broth

 

2 14-oz. cans of diced tomatoes

 

1 tsp. salt or to taste

 

Black pepper to taste

 

1/2 tsp. garlic powder
